My husband and I liked everything

“My husband and I liked everything. Charles and Christine were wonderful hosts. Attention was paid to every detail. The rooms were elegant, there were treats and tea in the room for your return after a long day and for the early morning. Breakfast was totally wonderful, everything was fresh and exactly what we wanted. Lovely breakfast room with fine china. A beautiful location, very pretty garden, even in December. An easy walk to town. I would recommend The Porch House to anyone interested in an elegant, cozy stay !!”

Excellent B&B

What can we say that hasn’t already been said! We have just returned from a fantastic one night stay, and would definitely come back.
Upon arrival, we were met by the owners, Charles and Christine, and made welcome straight away. Within minutes, we had been shown our room, and provided with hot drinks and home made cakes in the lounge – brilliant!
We had the twin room with the garden view – extremely comfortable and well-presented. Smashing beds, really good shower and tea/coffee making facilities, plus some lovely chocolate and shortbread treats.
The breakfast was just as good as previous visitors have stated. generous portions, lots of fresh fruit and orange juice, and lots of flexibility shown when deciding when we could have breakfast.
The hosts were very nice indeed, friendly, warm and genuine. They clearly work hard on running their business efficiently, but also clearly understand the importance of customer service, and this was second to none we have ever experienced.
And finally, Penny, a most adorable and friendly family pet dog. What a star!

Room Tip: The twin room has a lovely garden room.

“Delightful, charming and steeped in history”

Sadly, stayed for only one night but very memorable and comfortable.

Met by Charles and Christine on arrival. Had a lovely chat about the history of the place before being shown to my room overlooking the pretty garden. A gorgeous double room decorated with what looked like Osborne & Little print wallpaper. Loads of classy touches: a mechanical alarm clock, a basket of fruits of the season and artisan chocolates, magazines, nice toileltries, bathrobe, slippers…..everything you need to feel comfortable. Lovely comfy bed with decent duvet and cotton bed linen ensured a great night’s sleep. Fantastic double sized shower with rainfall shower head to get you started in the morning.

Superb breakfast. Little pots of flavoursome fresh berries. A delicious bowl of porridge. Tasty, hot plate of bacon and poached egg. Tea served in a pretty teapot.

Hope I get an opportunity to revisit. Excellent in every way.
